On Tuesday, Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley who served as ambassador to the United Nations during the Trump administration officially launched her 2024 Presidential campaign. Haley is officially the first major Republican to have opposed former President Donald Trump for the GOP nomination.
Haley is also expected to have an in-person speech on Wednesday in Charleston where she will announce her bid for the White House. In the video, an announcement posted by Haley spoke about the need for a “new generation of leadership” that will help secure the border, deal with the country’s fiscal responsibility, and help strengthen the country.
Haley added that the “socialist left” had been attempting to rewrite history. At the same time, China and Russia are both on the move because they believe the U.S. “can be bullied, kicked around.” She added that if one thing is known about her is that she does not “put up with bullies.”
Haley had previously teased her presidential run during a Fox News interview where she had said that the country needed to move in a new direction. She had then said “And can I be that leader? Yes, I think I can be that leader.”
Haley is now expected to start traveling across the country, making a stop in New Hampshire for three days of town hall-style campaign stops and Iowa for a few days according to different sources.
Trump’s first stops in his own campaign were in New Hampshire and in Haley’s home-state, South Carolina.
